Diving into Science and Technology Week!

It's Science & Technology week here at AELP and the groundbreaking discoveries are underway!

The students of AELP visited the Newfound Audubon Center in Hebron, New Hampshire today to study the macro-invertebrates as a guide to discerning water quality.  Kyle, our incredibly friendly and knowledgeable guide from the Paradise Point Nature Center, led the group into the waters of Newfound Lake.
AELP investigates the aquatic life of Newfound Lake!
Each student was supplied with a net and bucket to catch what insects or marine life he or she could and many of the students took to the challenge with gusto.  Rudolf, a typically quieter sort, jumped right into the activity (and the lake!) to catch 6 bass hatchlings in his net.  He was shouting and exclaiming with every discovery and catch.
Rudolf, from Russia, on the hunt for marine life!
Coco, from China, shared her impressive biology knowledge with her fellow students as questions were raised about the life cycles of frogs, dragonflies, fish, and the proportions of aquatic plantlife.

All of the students and staff of the AELP would like to thank Kyle, our guide, and Newfound Audubon Center for their impressive tour through the shores and forest of Newfound Lake.
Kyle explains the biology of the students' findings; here, he discusses a fresh water mollusk that Ellie found!
The students had a fantastic time learning how to test water quality and thoroughly enjoyed exploring the natural ecosystems of New Hampshire's native land and water species.

Hiro, Filippo, and Fernando are determined to catch dinner for the AELP family!
